Resolved: Freedom Boat Club - Clean Up Fee Charged
I spoke to Captain Matt today and he apologized for the issue at hand. Explained that they do get some boats that are extremely dirty and that is why they have the policy in place.
He has agreed to refund my money as we both agreed, that while the boat did have some dirt on it, it was not worthy of a fee.
He also agreed, that moving forward, they would let the member know that the boat would be charged a fee if the boat came back excessively dirty prior to them departing so that the member can at least make an educated decision. I think that is fair and am satisfied with the outcome that FBC has done.
One of the things that I liked about joining FBC was that I could walk off the boat when done and not worry about clean up, flushing the engine etc...well today I happened to notice a charge from FBC for $37.45 on my credit card and wanted to see what it was. When I called they said that it was a "cleanup fee" because I left the boat dirty.
I was surprised because I boat with 2 kids under 3 and my wife so its not like we are going crazy on the boat and at most have maybe some crumbs on the floor. When they sent me the pics of the "dirty boat" as they claimed, basically it was the dirt that comes out on a wet floor when you have shoes on. This could easily be washed away with a quick spray of the hose. The worst part is that I tipped the guy, Greg, $20 when I got there and before I left I asked if everything was good.
He said yeah and I left. Had he mentioned that it was "too dirty" I would have simply taken out a hose and washed it down. I wish I could add the picture they sent me as I almost started laughing when I saw what they considered "too dirty".
I guess moving forward, I will save myself the $20 tip and just clean the boat myself as that ride now cost me almost $60. Besides that, we enjoy the boat club, but this is ridiculous.
Reason of review: Problems with payment.

..Oh come on..you pay a lot for this service ...a tip should not be necessary... and service charges should not be
You should leave the boat clean and leave a tip. Boat service is a luxury that you are fortunate to afford. Don't be a cheapskate.
Hey *** did you read the part where I mentioned that I did tip prior to the trip or are you just an internet tough guy. In addition, I specifically asked if it was ok before I left and the guy said there was no issues.
It is a nice luxury that I can afford, just glad I don't have to interact with *** like you.
